Obituary of Bernadette Bavis

It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her long life, that the family of Bernadette Bavis announces her passing on June 19, 2025 at the age of 92 at The Agnes Pratt Home in St. John’s. Formerly of Jerseyside and predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, son Francis, granddaughter Stephanie, son-in-law Ray Hefford, as well as her brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn are her daughters Christina and Joyce (John), sons Paddy (Sharon), Maurice (Daphne), Nick (Marilyn), John (Lynda), Joe (Dianne), and Gerard (Deanne). Also left to mourn are fifteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nephew Don White (Mary), sisters-in-law Vera White, Lizzie Blanche, Judy Leonard, Anne Drolette, and brother-in-law Liguori Traverse; special friends, Gerald and James Houlihan. At this time, the family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the incredible staff at the Agnes Pratt Home for their wonderful care and the love shown to our mother. Funeral services entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 21st from 12-9pm and Sunday, June 22nd from 11am-3pm with service to follow on Sunday in Coombs Memorial Chapel at 3pm. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
