To all the Bavis Family, thinking about you all. Mrs Bavis was such a lovely lady, we enjoyed many visits over the years when she was in Hr Grace with Sharon and Paddy. She will be missed, but know she’s at peace. Truly a Mothers love is forever and you guys had one of the best! The Bavis Family, We were saddened to learn about the passing of your dear loved one. As a child growing up on Traverse's Hill I remember the many acts of kindness she did for my family. When my mom was sick she would come to our house and take me and my siblings up to her house so mom could rest. Of course having her own large family she had no hesitation taking 4 more children on a daily bases until mom was well again.She treated us as her own and I will never forget her kindness. Bernadette's kindness and grace touched so many lives. We will forever treasure the beautiful memories we shared. This beautiful lady had a way of making everyone feel special just by that big smile and gentle hug. May the memories of your mom/grandmother bring you peace,comfort and strength in your time of sorrow. Her life was a blessing and her memory a treasure. R.I.P sweet Bernadette " A mother holds her children's hands for a little while, but their hearts forever."

What I will always remember about Bernadette is how she could always make those around her feel loved, even in her final days. There was many times nanny’s cuddle or an “i love you sweetheart” is what got me through some tough twelve hour shifts. The love that her family showed her is a testament to the woman she is. I will always remember you and don’t forget to let me in the side door of heaven. May we all find comfort in knowing that she is at peace.

I knew Bernadette from when I began working at Agnes Pratt. She was the most sweetest, gentle person. A very kind, lovely lady. I will certainly miss her sweet smile and hugs. We spent many weekends growing up visiting the home of Joe and Bernadette and hanging out with the crowd . You were always welcome and there was always a bite to eat or sweet to be had . They were always happy to see you . Auntie B was always quick with a kiss or hug . You felt loved around her. Condolences to all the family and friends who were lucky enough to have known her . I met this lovely lady during her final year at the Agnes Pratt nursing home. Although, it is true that dementia takes a person , there was still so much of Bernadette’s core remaining. The love she had for her children was evident in every step she took. She had a gentleness that would shine through at times , when as a health care professional , I may have really needed that gentle kiss or a simply hand to hold. She taught many of us the real reason we do what we do. To her family, my deepest condolences. May your mom forever rest in peace and may all eight of you be walking beside her.
