Bill was always hail fellow well meet when I saw him. I first met him during his wife Loretta’s wake several years ago. It was a long time coming as my dad and Wanda had been married for years but circumstances brought me to Newfoundland coincidentally at the same time as her passing.
That brought Bill into my life as well as Wanda and my dad again. I have seen him several times since and I always felt welcomed and happy to be seen. He was warm and funny (two traits that rank at the top of my list).
A good man who raised a good family. Higher praise for a life I cannot imagine.

To all the Collins family it was very sad to hear of your dads passing. He had a great run at life! When I picture your father I see a jovial man with a grin on his face and a mischievous story to tell . I always left every encounter with him with a smile on my face as he would tell me a story about his buddies , my uncles Porky (Cyril Williams) and Fatback (Brendan Williams) . Funniest thing was I know I got the PG versions. I only hope is I get to see him on the other side because Im sure you put a flask and deck of cards in his pocket for the journey! Im sure I wont have any trouble finding him because because I will hear him or Peter Kelly screaming Pissers are wild ! God bless you all! Wayne,Rose and Sean Kelly

My deepest condolences to Cindy and the entire Collins family. As a senior Cadet Instructor, Mr Bill had a tremendous influence on my early life as an Army Cadet between 1972 -76. His patience, advice and guidance helped me form a solid basis for what would become a very successful military career. He instilled in me the concept that hard work and perseverance will always pay off if you stay focused on your goals. A true gentleman. "Acer Acerpori" Rest in Peace soldier. Your journey here is done.

William and family. Hold close the memories of your pop. He was an amazing man. From my early childhood days and well into my teen I spent a great deal of time around Mr. Collins’ house with William, and was treated like one of he’s own. Any trip back to placentia in the years that followed when I’d run into him he’d always stop and have a chat about life in general. The area has lost a true gentleman here, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May you rest in peace sir!!

Dear Cindy & all of your family, heartfelt sympathies to you all on the passing of your dear father.
My memories of your Mom and Dad and visiting your home are nothing but wonderful. Your Dad gave the toast to “The Bride” at my wedding almost 47 years ago.
Your family should have no regrets because you cherished him to the end. You are an example beyond words.
I had always managed to see Mr. C on my trips home over the years because you, Cindy, would be taking him for his daily drive.
Rest in peace, Mr. C with the people who you loved and were waiting in anticipation for your homecoming.

It is a sad day for all who knew Bill to learn of his passing.
He was a big supporter of my music over the years and both myself and Debbie loved to drop by their house to visit when in the area.
