Obituary of Charles Joseph Pittman

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles Joseph Pittman (1954-2025). It is with broken hearts, that the family of Charlie Pittman, announce his peaceful passing on April 1, 2025. The youngest son of the late Charlie Pittman Sr. and Elizabeth Pittman of Merasheen. Charlie is predeceased by his siblings, Dick Pittman (Mary), Eugene Pittman and Jim Pittman. Leaving to mourn are his devoted wife of 47 years, Daphne; his children, Sydney and Liam and two very special granddaughters, Paris and Aubree. Also leaving to mourn is his sister Betty Meeks (Tx, USA); his mother-in-law, Frederica Bowering; sisters-in-law, Edna Pittman, Kay Pittman, Linda Bowering (Gerry Power), Valerie Hickey (Jerry), Susan Hunt (Wayne), Dawn Bowering and Linda Bowering; one brother-in-law, Don Bowering (Doris) as well as large number of nieces, nephews, family, friends and co-workers who share in this incredible loss. Charlie worked as a Millwright for his career starting out in Lab City, then years offshore and around the world. Over his career he was well respected and loved for not only his work ethic but his zest for life and his jovial nature. He leaves behind a group of co-workers whom he was so very grateful for over the years. Until his recent illness, Charlie loved to travel and entertain. He was always quick to lend a hand or a glass of wine! Married for 47 years, he and Daphne raised their family, travelled and built a home and life together, But, his greatest love was found when he became a father and grandfather. A doting Dad to Liam and Sydney, and grandfather to Paris and Aubree. To Charlie, family was everything. He loved to be surrounded by his people and somehow made everyone of us feel like the “favorite”. He was so proud of every accomplishment, celebrated every mile stone. He lived and loved fiercely. The family would like to extend our profound gratitude to Charlie’s health care team, in particular, Dr. Greenland and Dr. Ahmed for their professionalism, care and empathy throughout the last few months. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 5th, from 2:00 PM - 9:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, April 6th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held on Sunday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Coombs Memorial Chapel. Inurnment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Placentia.
