Obituary of David Francis McGrath

Passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 at the Lions Manor Nursing Home, Placentia, Mr. David Francis McGrath, of St. Bride's, age 97 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Emma; his granddaughter, Courtney; parents, Margaret and John McGrath; brothers Pat, John, Donald (Bridget) George (Mary Ann); sisters, Dorothy Coffey (William), Lucy Strickland (Emile) and Christabelle Conway (Jeremiah). Leaving to mourn with treasured memories, his daughter, Julia; grandson Trent (Angela) and his great-grandson, Reid; his brother, Edward (Bride); sisters-in-law, Nancy and Annie (Pat); along with a great number of nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. To the family and friends who lived near him and cared about him over the years and were always there to help, your gestures of love and friendship meant so much to him. Our thanks to the staff at the Beachside Manor and the Lions Manor Nursing Home in Placentia for the compassionate care shown to David during this time there. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia. Leaving Placentia on Monday, February 24th, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. to go to Sacred Heart Church, St. Bride's. Visitation to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the church until the Funeral Mass. Funeral Mass to take place on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Church, St. Bride's. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Bride's, NL ~ Life's work well done. Safe now in the arms of God and reunited with those he loved. ~
