Obituary of Sharon Regular

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On Tuesday, May 16, three days past her 54th birthday, Sharon Ann Regular (Doody) of Dunville, lost her battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends during a brief stay at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, NL. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Shawn, son Shane and daughter Kristen.  Also, parents Lawrence and Marion Doody, brothers Jimmy (Vera), Brendan (Kelly), Clyde (Paula), sister Mary Pye (Brian), sister-in-law Elaine Doody (Rhody), parents-in-law Douglas and Alice Regular, brother-in-law Douglas (Wendy), 11 nieces and nephews; Lindsey (Ryan) , April (Tyler), Rebecca (Fred), Chelsea (Justin), Ryan (Hailey), Jenna, Candace (Tony), Brittany, Glenn, Shauna (Jonathan), Courtney (Jord), one great-nephew; Reese, one great-niece; Harper, and a large circle of extended family and dear friends.  Sharon is predeceased by her brother Freddy, grandparents Vincent and Emily Doody, Stanley and Molly Dobbin, Henry and Florence Power, Mary Daley (Jim), uncles Allan and Clifford Dobbin, Sebastian, Rhody, and Jimmy Power, aunts Bride Linehan (Gerald), Mary Linehan (Edmund), cousin Terry Dobbin and a number of other fondly remembered relatives and friends.

Sharon grew up in Admiral's Beach, St. Mary's Bay.  She lived in a two storey house overlooking the water, with loving parents and five rowdy siblings. She met Shawn in St. John's in 1982 while completing her post-secondary education. She survived motorcycle rides into 'the Beach' and he survived meeting all the brothers so they were married in 1990.  She was a devoted wife and eagerly became a mother. Like any good mama, Shane and Kristen were the centre of her world.  She worked both outside and inside the home throughout their formative years and always managed to provide hugs, kisses, discipline and a safety net for the kids to grow and spread their wings. She also made time to be a doting daughter, loving sister, aunt and Godmother and loyal friend.  Sharon bravely served as her brother Freddy's bone marrow donor in 2001 when he fought his own battle with cancer. While being a modest, private person, Sharon loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She liked nothing better than time spent with good company, good food and music, as long as it wasn't country. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, her generosity and her quiet, simple way of always being there for the people in her life.
